Unpopular opinion: the moon landing didn't fake it but NASA definitely faked the video quality

I watched a 16mm reel from 1969 and then pulled up the 'restored' 4K version and the difference is INSANE - the original film looks way more real and less polished. Someone in post-production smoothed out shadows and added contrast that doesn't match actual lunar lighting. Why would NASA spend money on enhancing footage if they weren't trying to hide something fishy?

Honestly, "Why would NASA spend money on enhancing footage if they weren't trying to hide something fishy?" That's the million dollar question right there. The 4K version does look too clean, like someone dialed the fake contrast way up. The original 16mm looks like actual dirty film from the moon, not a movie set.

Last time I upscaled an old family video, it looked fake clean too until I dialed back the sharpening.
