Last Tuesday was the worst day of my entire year at the bike shop
I work at a repair shop in Austin, and last Tuesday started with a guy bringing in a 1990s mountain bike that hadn't been touched in like 15 years. Every bolt was frozen, the tires were dry rotted, and the chain snapped the second I touched it. Then a customer showed up 10 minutes before close demanding I fix a flat on his e-bike that had some weird non-standard tire size. Ended up staying an extra hour and a half trying to find a tube that fit. Has anyone else had a single day where everything that could go wrong just did?

evanr79 brings up a good point about charging extra. Honestly I thought about it but the e-bike guy was already giving me a headache and I just wanted him gone. That line you wrote about "the chain snapped the second I touched it" really got me because I've been there with old bikes. I actually read this article online about how old lubricants basically turn into glue after a decade sitting still, and that's exactly what happened on that mountain bike. You probably spent more time cleaning off that gunk than actually fixing anything. At least you made it through, some days are just designed to test your patience.
