Hot take: I used to think the Denver Airport murals were just weird art, but a tour guide's comment made me look again
I was on a layover in Denver last year and took that weird art tour they offer. The guide pointed out that the mural with the dead dove and the soldier has a specific date on it, March 3, 1995, which is the day the airport opened. He said some people think it's a prediction, but he showed us the blueprints where the artist just used the opening date as a placeholder. Seeing the actual plans from the city archives (he had copies) flipped my whole view. Now I dig for the boring paperwork before buying into the wild story. Anyone else have a conspiracy that fell apart once you saw the original documents?

Yeah but like... is any of that paperwork even real? Feels like a lot of work over some airport art.

Did you catch that news segment last week about the whole thing? Apparently someone dug up some actual old airport blueprints from the 70s that match the art piece kinda perfectly, lol. It's wild how deep this rabbit hole goes over a sculpture people just walk past to catch their flight. I guess if someone faked city records to make some weird point about public art, that's a whole different level of commitment.
