Dropped $150 on a 'pro-grade' air purifier that just makes a grinding noise after 3 months
I bought this thing from an online ad promising it would filter wildfire smoke here in Portland, and now the fan sounds like it's chewing rocks, has anyone else had luck with a specific brand that actually holds up?

Man, I grabbed a Winix from Costco and it's still running quiet 2 years later.

Classic move. "Pro-grade" these days just means it costs more, not that it actually works. Sounds like you got the budget version of a blender with a fan function. Honestly half these online brands are just rebranded junk from the same factory with different logos. Your best bet is to look at something with a actual warranty and a customer service number you can call when it starts sounding like a dying robot.

You been burned by one of these brands before yourself, or you just seen enough people post about it? Cause I've noticed a pattern with the ones that only sell through Instagram ads, they all have that same glossy video but the comments are turned off on every post. Makes you wonder what people would be saying if they could actually type something.
