Appreciation post: I spent $80 on a book that changed my view on moon landing conspiracies
For years I was sure the moon landings were faked, mostly from watching those old documentaries online. Then I bought 'A Man on the Moon' by Andrew Chaikin for about eighty bucks, a used first edition. The level of technical detail and the sheer number of people involved across different companies and countries convinced me a hoax would be impossible to keep quiet. Reading the firsthand accounts from engineers who built the lunar module made the whole thing feel real in a way YouTube videos never did. It's funny how a physical book from 1994 did what a decade of internet arguing couldn't. Has anyone else had a specific piece of evidence completely flip their stance on a big theory?

Man, that's a solid find. I get it, sometimes you just need to hold the actual source material in your hands. The internet's full of noise, but a detailed book like that forces you to slow down and actually follow the facts. Good on you for being willing to change your mind when the proof is right there.

Tell me about it. I once argued for a week about some historical fact, only to find a single page in an old textbook that proved me completely wrong. Felt like a real idiot, but you gotta respect the source material like @the_lucas said. My ego still hasn't fully recovered from that one.
