That $70 'pro' controller grip tape that ruined my thumbs for a month
I dropped $70 on a fancy rubber grip set for my PS5 controller, thought it'd help with sweaty hands during long sessions. First night playing Elden Ring, the texture started peeling off and left sticky residue all over my fingers. By week two, the adhesive melted into the controller shell and I couldn't even scrub it off with alcohol. It saved my grip for like two days then burned me hard - has anyone else bought a mod accessory that sounded good but totally backfired?

Heard about this exact issue from a buddy who fell for the same thing with his Xbox controller. He said the rubber started breaking down after like three nights of Halo and left this gross sticky goo in the hand grips. He ended up having to buy a whole new controller shell because the stuff wouldn't come off. I still think grip tape is a good idea in theory but cheap rubber + heat from your hands just equals a mess everytime.
