The day my power trowel tried to kill me in front of a homeowner
Last Thursday I was running a 36" power trowel on a garage floor in Phoenix and the blade arm just snapped clean off. Sent the thing spinning sideways and it took out a bucket of curing compound I had sitting nearby. Homeowner was watching from his kitchen window and just stared at me like I was an idiot. I ended up hand finishing the last 200 square feet with a steel trowel on my knees. Anyone else had a tool just give up mid-pour?

Always check the blade arm bolts before every pour, I learned that one the hard way too.

My buddy stripped his threads on a brand new machine after missing a loose bolt on the second pour. A torque wrench set to the spec in the manual is worth every penny. Saved my arms and the concrete from a real mess.
