That bull float angle thing finally clicked for me on a driveway in Tulsa
I've been floating slabs for like 8 years and always tilted the bull float up on the pull stroke, thinking it helped fill low spots. Last Tuesday we were doing a 30x40 garage pad and this older crew lead, Don, walks over and goes 'you're dragging the air to the surface on every pull, that's why you're getting those little pinholes.' He showed me to keep it dead flat and let the weight do the work, and the finish came out way tighter. Has anyone else had a basic move like that just smack you upside the head after years of doing it wrong?
