Pouring a 40x60 slab in Amarillo when the pump truck died 2 hours in
We had 14 yards sitting in the chute and the driver from the plant said he couldn't wait past 20 minutes, so we ended up wheelbarrowing the rest and finishing at 11pm, which beat the alternative of a cold joint, but has anyone else had a pump go down mid-pour and what did you do with the leftover mud?
Had this happen on a 30x50 in Pampa last spring. Pump line plugged up about 90 yards in and we had 6 yards already in the forms and nowhere near finished. Crew jumped in with wheelbarrows and buggies and we got it floated by dark. Leftover mud from the last truck we dumped into some forms for a small pad we were gonna pour anyway, saved us a whole extra truck. That driver gave us 25 minutes and bounced too, guess they all run the same playbook. Good on you for beating the cold joint, that's the only thing that really matters in that mess.
