Just realized that laser screed I laughed at in 2019 actually earns its keep
Back around 2019 a guy out of Naperville brought a laser screed to one of our 20,000 sq ft warehouse pours and I figured it was a toy for guys who couldn't pull a straight edge. We humped screeds by hand for years (knees still remind me), so I gave him grief the whole first pour. Then we checked the floor with a 10 foot straightedge and the flatness was tighter than anything our crew had ever hit, and he knocked it out in a third of the time. I still think hand screeding teaches you feel, but I'm eating my words on the machine. Anybody else come around on a tool they swore off?
