I had to pick between pouring at 5am or waiting for the shade, and I picked wrong
Had a 24x30 pad out in Peoria two weeks back and the mix was sitting in the truck at 92 degrees. I could either start pouring at 5am while it was still cool or wait until the sun moved and the slab was in shade around 2pm. I went with the shade and by then the mud had started to set up in the chute, so we were fighting it the whole way across. We still got it down but the finish came out rougher than I wanted and I had to work it way harder than usual. Anyone else run into this where waiting for shade backfires on you?
