I finally switched from a magnesium float to a resin one on a slab in Reno
Used magnesium for 12 years, figured resin floats were a gimmick. Tried one last Tuesday on a 40-yard pour and the finish came up way faster with less tearing on the edges. Anyone else made the swap and stuck with it?
Man, I feel like I've been living under a rock with my old mag float for way too long. Tried a resin one on a small garage slab last week and I almost dropped it when I saw how smooth it came out, no joke. My arm still hurts from doing things the hard way for a decade, but hey, at least I got a good workout out of it. The edge tearing thing is real too, I used to fight with that on every pour and just figured it was my bad technique. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I should apologize to all the homeowners who got my "character marks" on their slabs.
