Heard a foreman say wet curing is a waste of time and water

Last week on a job in Nashville, this old foreman told the crew he never bothers with wet curing on flatwork. Said he just uses a spray-on cure and seal and moves on. I kept my mouth shut but I've seen too many slabs get dusting and cracking from skipping the water cure, especially in hot weather. For me, three days of wet burlap and plastic has always paid off, even if it costs an extra hour of setup. Has anyone else run into guys who swear off wet curing entirely?

Three days of wet burlap saved my Atlanta driveway from looking like the moon.

Ain't it better to save water and just use the spray stuff though?
