Had a driveway pour go bad on me yesterday because of a busted hose clamp
We were finishing a 30 by 40 foot driveway in the afternoon heat, and I was running the power trowel. All of a sudden, the water line from my sprayer just blew off the pump. Turns out the cheap hose clamp I grabbed from my truck that morning had a hairline crack I didn't see. Soaked the whole edge we were about to start edging, and we lost maybe 20 minutes of good working time trying to get it fixed and the water mopped up. Had to send my helper to the nearest hardware store for a pack of new clamps, which cost me about 15 bucks and a lot of stress. The homeowner was watching from the window the whole time, which made it worse. Has anyone else had a simple piece of gear like a clamp or a fitting fail at the absolute worst moment? What's your go-to brand for small parts you know you can trust?

Ever have a moment like that where you just stop and check every single clamp on the truck before you start a pour now? That kind of failure makes you paranoid.

Man, that exact thing happened to me on a patio job last summer. I lost a whole corner to a burst hose. Now I keep a small plastic bin in my truck just for fittings and clamps. I only buy the stainless steel band clamps from a real supply house, not the thin stuff from a big box store. That extra few bucks per clamp saves so much headache when you're racing the clock.
