Diamond pads vs. resin pads for polishing countertops which way do you go?

I tried both on a job in Phoenix last month and the diamond pads cut faster but left a rougher finish on the mid-grits while the resin pads took twice as long but gave a mirror shine without extra steps has anyone else found a clear winner for garages vs. kitchens?

You said the diamond pads cut faster but left a rougher finish on mid-grits... for a garage job would you still pick diamond and just skip the extra polishing steps? I'm wondering if that roughness matters less when nobody's eating off the garage floor... seems like saving time could be worth it.

Oh YEAH you're totally overthinking it. I did my garage with diamonds and stopped at like 200 grit and it's honestly fine. Drove my truck on it for a year now and it's held up great, nobody's licking the floor.
