Bought a $400 magnesium float back in '08 and it's still my go-to
I remember when most guys around here just used steel, but I splurged on a 16 inch Marshalltown mag. It felt like a crazy price then, but the finish it gives on a hard trowel is so much smoother. That thing has outlasted three trucks and a whole lot of mud. What's the one tool you bought that just won't quit?

Man, I'm still using the same cheap paint roller tray from my first apartment. The thing is bent and the liner is basically glued on, but it just works. Meanwhile my buddy's fancy aluminum tray warped after two uses. Sometimes the old junk just refuses to die.

Wait, you bought a magnesium float in 2008 for four hundred bucks? That's wild. I thought my old steel one was a splurge. Jason_stone12 is right about the cheap stuff hanging on, but a tool that outlasts three trucks is on another level. You definitely got your money's worth.

Yeah, tools outliving trucks hits home. My dad's old wood plane has seen more decades than I have.
