Walked into a client's office in Reno and spotted 14 daisy-chained power strips under one desk
I get why people do it, but seeing a space heater, two monitors, and a laser printer all fed off one $8 strip made me wonder how many of you flat out refuse to touch a job until the power situation gets fixed?
A buddy of mine got called out to a small print shop last year and found a space heater running off a strip plugged into another strip, three levels deep. He told the owner he wouldn't power up his gear until they got an electrician in, and the guy got pretty hot about it. Two weeks later the whole chain melted down at 2am and nearly caught some paper stock. My buddy still brings it up at lunch. Your mileage may vary on how hard you push, but that one kind of made the case for him.
