That tip about using compressed air from the power supply side saved me an hour of troubleshooting

Old timer named Mike at a repair shop in Phoenix told me to always blow dust out from the PSU side first because it pushes debris away from the motherboard. I tried it on a Dell Optiplex that kept overheating and it ran 15 degrees cooler after. Has anyone else found better results blowing from a specific direction?

My 2008 Optiplex 755 ran fine for years with dust everywhere so I'm not convinced a temp drop of 15 degrees makes or breaks anything. Those office boxes are built like tanks and can handle some gunk before they actually choke out. Honestly most people won't notice the difference in normal use unless they're pushing the machine hard.

Yeah, that stuff drives me crazy. It's the same with people who freak out over a scratch on their car or a tiny dent. @iris394 like you're saying, those machines are built to take a beating. People act like everything has to be in a perfect bubble.
