Switched from a basic thermal paste to Arctic MX-6 on a gaming rig last week
The client's CPU was hitting 95C under load with the old paste. After cleaning and applying the MX-6, temps dropped to 78C in the same stress test. The consistency was just easier to spread without any mess. Anyone have a different brand they swear by for these hot systems?

That's a huge drop, nice work. I once used a whole tube of paste on one CPU like I was frosting a tiny cake. My temps were fine, but my pride took a hit. I've stuck with Noctua NT-H1 since then, mostly because the little spatula they include saves me from myself.

The spatula is a game changer for sure. My first build looked like a thermal paste crime scene. I used way too much and it oozed out the sides. Cleanup took forever with isopropyl and q-tips. Now I just do a small pea-sized dot in the center.

Remember when @coleman.avery used a whole tube? I did something worse, I used toothpaste as a joke once. It dried out in like five minutes and my PC smelled minty before it shut down.
