Spent a month diagnosing a slow network, turned out to be a single bad keystone jack
I spent four weeks swapping switches, cables, and even a router because a client's office kept dropping packets. Finally used a cheap cable tester on every port and found one jack in a conference room that was wired wrong. Learned to always start with the physical layer before blaming anything else. Anyone else ever spent way too long on something that was a simple fix?

Hold on, is this really such a big deal? A missing packet here and there in a conference room, that's annoying, but not the end of the world. Four weeks of swapping gear for a single bad jack sounds like someone just wanted an excuse to avoid real work. Plus, most offices have network dropouts all the time and people don't even notice.

Honestly, I get where you're coming from. It does sound like a stretch.
