Spent $180 on a thermal camera for finding air leaks and it paid off in one weekend

Found three gaps around my windows and a hidden draft behind the baseboard that was costing me way more in heating. Did anyone else actually get results from one of these or did I just get lucky?

My buddy actually tried one of those after seeing a YouTube video. He's the type that thinks he can fix anything so he went all in. He found a massive leak behind his kitchen cabinets that he never would have spotted otherwise. But here's the kicker, he also found that his attic insulation was way worse than he thought which was a bigger project. So yeah the camera paid for itself in his case too, your mileage may vary but I'd say you didn't just get lucky.
