Overheard a client in Dallas say they'd rather buy a new laptop than pay for a virus removal
They thought the $150 quote was a rip-off, not realizing the new machine would have the same issue in a week. How do you guys explain the value of our work without sounding defensive?

But is it even a real virus? Sometimes it's just a bunch of junkware slowing things down.

Got a buddy who spent a whole weekend freaking out about a virus, turns out it was just a bunch of bloatware from a free PDF converter he downloaded. A quick scan with Malwarebytes cleaned it up in like 20 minutes.

Hold up, is it even a real virus? I've seen so many "scary" pop-ups that were just junkware from some sketchy download. A full system scan with a decent tool can clear that out in an hour. If it's truly malware stealing data, that's a different story, but a lot of times it's just a cluttered mess making things slow. Maybe the quote was for the worst case, but the fix could be way simpler.
