Noticed a big change in how long it takes to clean a virus off a computer now
Five years ago, a bad malware infection could take me a full day to clean up, like that nasty Cryptolocker variant. Now, with tools like Malwarebytes and built-in Windows Defender, I can clear most stuff in under an hour. It feels like the threats got smarter, but the cleanup tools got way faster. Has anyone else seen their average fix time drop this much?

Yeah that part about modern malware being more fragile makes a lot of sense. I heard a tech podcast guy say the same thing, that a lot of it now is just scripts that fall apart if you break one link in the chain. It's not like the old deeply rooted stuff that was a nightmare to pull out. So the scanners can just kill the process and delete the loader file and be done with it. Makes my life way easier when my cousin asks me to look at his laptop lol.

Oh totally! I read an article last week that said modern malware is often designed to be sneakier and spread faster, but it's also more fragile. The cleanup tools can just delete a few key files now instead of hunting down a million registry entries. It's like they're built to be stopped quick.
