Just read that a single speck of dust can cause a 30% drop in cooling efficiency on a CPU heatsink

Found that stat in a 2022 thermal paste application guide from a university engineering blog, and now I'm paranoid about my own cleaning routine.

The Gamers Nexus video on dust testing showed even worse results, honestly.

yeah so I watched that video and immediately looked at my own PC and was like "well, you're probably a dust factory, buddy." I have a glass side panel and it's basically a clear window into my shame, there's like a whole ecosystem living in those fans right now. honestly I think my dust management strategy is just "close your eyes and pretend it's fine" which clearly isn't working. the part where they showed how much performance drops over time really hit different because I bet my CPU is just screaming for help behind all that fluff. I'm not even mad at the test results, I'm mad at myself for being too lazy to clean a computer I built two years ago.
