Had a client's server room flood in Houston during the storm last week

We had to move everything to the second floor and dry the drives with a data recovery heater. Anyone ever had to do emergency salvage like that?

Been there, it's a nightmare. Those heaters are a lifesaver but keep an eye on the drives for a few days after, sometimes they fail later.

Oh man, you are not kidding. Had one drive that seemed totally fine for a week, then just dropped dead on a Tuesday morning. The worst feeling. Now I just assume any drive that sees a big temp swing is on borrowed time.

My buddy's drive worked fine for a month then just died after a cold snap.
