Bought a $60 cable tester. Still can't find the bad pair.

Spent good money on a Klein scout Pro 3. Thought it would save me time tracing lines in a drop ceiling. Now I'm staring at it wondering if the tool is junk or if I just can't read the manual right. Anyone else wrestle with these things?

Ah man, drop ceilings are the worst. So did you actually check if the pinout on the ends matches what the tester expects? I've had a few cables that looked fine but had a weird T568A/B mixup that made the Klein freak out and show a false open.

Had a similar moment with my Klein Scout, spent an hour chasing a ghost (turned out I had the ends swapped). The manual might as well be written in hieroglyphics, honestly. Realized later the thing actually works fine, it's just my brain that's the problem. Drop ceilings love to mess with your head, making every pair look bad when it's really just bad luck.
