After 8 years of messing with laptops, I finally wised up about work mats
I used to do board work directly on the anti-static bag or my bare wooden desk in Austin. Last month I grabbed a 2 foot by 3 foot silicone mat with a lip from a surplus store for $12, and the difference is unreal. Screws and jumpers stay put instead of rolling into the abyss, plus the lip catches all the crud when I flip a board over. Anyone else switch to a lipped mat after years of fishing parts out of carpet?
