Vent: A big grease interceptor in a local diner backed up on a Saturday morning rush

The whole floor drain system flooded because someone had been dumping coffee grounds down the sink for weeks. We had to shut down their kitchen for three hours to snake and jet the main line. Has anyone found a good way to get owners to actually train their staff on what not to put down drains?

Put laminated signs right above the sink drain with pictures of the clogged pipes it causes. Make it a visual problem they see every single time.

We tried that at my old office. The signs just got wet and gross after a week. What finally worked was the building manager threatening to charge each floor for the plumber.
