PSA: A talk with a hospital maintenance guy made me check my backflow preventers
Honestly, I was at a job in Springfield last week and got chatting with their head of facilities. He told me they just failed a surprise inspection because a single RPZ valve had a small internal leak they never caught. He said 'That little drip could have cost us our whole water cert if it backed up.' Ngl, it hit different coming from a guy who deals with real health code stuff, not just pressure. I went back and checked all our commercial site devices the next day. Has anyone else had a close call with a backflow test they almost missed?

Our guy in Springfield missed a test by two days last year. The inspector basically wrote us a love letter with all the fines listed. Good times.

Two days late cost them, but rescheduling is cheaper than fighting fines in court.

A love letter from an inspector is the kind of mail you never want to get. Those fines probably cost more than my car. It's wild how a tiny leak can turn into such a huge, expensive headache overnight.
