A building inspector called my pipe support 'creative' and I had to redo a whole floor
I was putting in a new restroom line for a small office building and used some extra PEX clips to hold a 2-inch main line. The inspector came through, pointed at it, and said, 'That's creative, but it won't hold in a year.' He was right, it was a vibration issue I didn't think about. I spent the next day pulling it all out and putting in proper steel hangers every 6 feet. Has anyone else had an inspector call them out on something that seemed fine at the time?

Inspectors can be too picky about small details sometimes.

Honestly, I get where you're coming from, but those small details are the whole point. A loose handrail or a slightly wrong wire gauge might seem minor until it causes a real problem. Their job is to catch the stuff we might miss, the things that could actually hurt someone. Calling that picky feels like missing why they're there in the first place.

Wait, are you serious @gibson.oliver? You actually think a loose handrail is a "small detail" until someone falls down the stairs and breaks their neck?
