Tried a Kirby Morgan 37 for the first time last week and hated it
I've been diving with a Kirby Morgan 57 for about 5 years now and figured I'd give the 37 a shot since it's lighter. Did a full 6 hour shift in 45 degree water off the coast of Galveston and my head was freezing the whole time. Less insulation makes a bigger difference than I thought. Anybody else find the 37 runs cold or did I just have a bad fit?

Does a lighter helmet really make up for a frozen head?

Has anyone actually tried riding with their head frozen solid just to save a few ounces on a helmet? Sounds like a great way to end up with icicles hanging off your eyebrows while you're "saving weight." I get that lighter gear feels nice, but freezing your brain off seems like a bad trade off. Unless you're racing in a sauna, maybe just wear a thicker beanie under that thing and call it good.

People out here looking like a human popsicle just to shave off the weight of a beanie. @lee.diana at least the frozen eyebrows will cut through the wind better.
