That $700 Kirby Morgan rebuild kit that was a total waste

Honestly, I dropped $700 on a rebuilt regulator kit for my KM-37 last month and it turned out the diaphragm was fine. The shop in Houma pushed me to swap everything, but the real issue was just a crusty o-ring on the second stage. Tbh, I should've pressure tested before ordering anything. Has anyone else gotten burned by a dive shop upselling parts you didn't need?
