My old supervisor in Mobile told me to always carry a small backup light, even on a simple hull cleaning job. I rolled my eyes until I got pinned under a dock in zero vis last month.

Absolute legend status. They saw the problem coming a mile away and stuck to their guns. That kind of call takes guts when everyone else is pushing back. Total vindication moment for them. It's a master class in trusting your gut.

Honestly that supervisor knew what they were talking about. Tbh the same thing happened to me with a spare knife for cutting lines - thought it was overkill till I got tangled underwater and my main one was out of reach. Ngl once you get saved by a backup you never forget it.
