My hard hat lamp went from useless to great after one simple change
I used to run a cheap 200 lumen lamp on my Kirby Morgan helmet and could barely see the weld line at 30 feet in the Mississippi. Swapped to a 1000 lumen LED unit with a tight spot beam about 4 months ago and the difference is night and day, I can read a tape measure down there now. What really did it was the narrow beam angle, maybe 15 degrees, so it cuts through the murk instead of washing out. Anyone else make the jump to LED, and what beam angle are you running for muddy river work versus clear blue water?
