My drysuit inflator valve got jammed after a shallow dive

Went from 0 issues to a stuck open valve in about 3 weeks, started after I rinsed it with tap water instead of fresh. Anyone else had their inlet pin corrode up that fast?

Whoa, wait-you're saying salt water is actually better than tap water for rinsing, @the_jason?

Tap water will do that. It's full of minerals that leave a film after drying. Salt water's actually better for rinsing because it doesn't have the same corrosion issues. Pull the inflator mechanism apart. Clean the pin and spring with a toothbrush and some vinegar. Rinse it with distilled water after. Should free it right up. Had a buddy who ignored it for a month. Ended up replacing the whole valve assembly. Way more expensive than just cleaning it now. Make sure you lube the o-rings with silicone grease when you put it back together. Keeps everything moving smooth.
