My dive supervisor told me to stop kicking so hard on descent.

He said I was just spooking the fish and wasting air, so I tried going limp like a dead weight. Sure enough, I dropped 30 feet in seconds and ended up with my fins tangled in a lobster trap line. Anyone else ever get humbled by a simple piece of advice like that?

Nah, kicking hard shows you're in control down there. Floating like a bag of chips isn't safer.

Is it really worth getting worked up over how someone floats, @anna_hill?
