I thought the 'no gloves on the tender' rule at the Pearl Harbor dry dock was just old timer superstition, until I watched a guy lose feeling in 3 fingers
Watched a 58 year old diver named Ray pull his gloves off to thread a bolt on a cofferdam job in 42 degree water and 20 minutes later he couldn't feel his pinky or ring finger, and now I'm the annoying guy who won't let anyone on my crew skip them, so has anyone else seen cold water nerve damage that fast or was Ray just unlucky?
