Comms battery quit on my last dive
Was at 100 feet. Had to signal for help. Always pack a spare.

Actually, hand signals get tough to see clearly at 100 feet. That's why staying close to your buddy is the real backup plan, not just the spare battery. Good reminder to practice those low-vis signals.

Agree that distance makes signals useless fast. We rely on clear signals so much that murky water surprises us. Staying close becomes the only real backup plan.
