Always thought full face masks were overkill until I borrowed one

I was diving on a bridge repair job near Seattle last month and tried a buddy's Kirby Morgan hat for a day. Three hours of not having salt water drip down my neck and actually hearing comms clearly... now I get why the old-timers swear by them. Anyone else find a piece of gear that changed their mind after years of avoiding it?

Yeah, I'm still not fully sold on that - I feel like a lot of people get hyped over gear that's just a tiny bit nicer than what they already have. @ward.piper, was it really that much of a game changer for you, or just a nice upgrade? I've seen guys drop a ton of cash on masks and still end up back in their old cheap ones a month later.
