Went from reading 3 trade paperbacks a month to just single issues and my brain is different now

Honestly, I used to be a trade paperback guy through and through. I'd wait 6 months for a collection to drop and then binge read the whole arc in one sitting. But around last September, I switched to grabbing single issues every Wednesday from my local shop in Austin. The pacing feels way different now because I have to sit with cliffhangers for 3 weeks like a normal person. I think the big change was when I missed a key moment in a Batman run because a trade rearranged the order. Has anyone else moved from trades to singles and felt like the story hits harder when you slow down?

100 bucks a month on comics before I even grab coffee and I feel @the_jason's pain in my credit score. My pull list grew faster than the zombie outbreak in The Walking Dead. At least the local shop owner knows my name now and that's basically a superpower, right?
