Update: My friend tried to 'fix' my mint condition X-Men #94 at a BBQ
He spilled lemonade on it while arguing about Cyclops, so I had to carefully blot it with a napkin and now it's got a tiny stain. Anyone know a good restoration person in Chicago for water damage?

Third Coast Comics did a great job on my friend's Amazing Spider-Man 181 last year. I used to think water stains were a total loss, but seeing that book come back changed my mind. They might be your best shot.

Yeah man, that sucks. I've had this exact thing happen with a old Star Wars #1 at a family cookout - cousin knocked over a beer and it got the corner. Water damage is tricky because it swells the paper and leaves tide marks. Best advice I got was from a guy in Ohio who does press work. He said don't try to fix it yourself with napkins or paper towels - that just pushes the stain deeper. Third Coast is solid from what I've heard, they do dry cleaning and pressing that can reduce the stain's visibility. Just call them first and be honest about it being lemonade - the sugar residue is harder to deal with than plain water.

Oh man, that is a special kind of comic book tragedy. I was reading a forum thread last week where a guy in Chicago swore by this place called Third Coast Comics for cleaning and pressing, said they saved a book from a coffee spill. Might be worth giving them a call to ask about water stains specifically.
