The ongoing debate: bagging vs boarding comics for long term storage

I've been collecting for about 5 years now and I always just bagged my comics with no boards. But last month after moving my boxes around I noticed some spine rolls on a few issues from 2018. So I switched to bag and board for everything after that. The boards keep them stiff but now my boxes are way heavier and tighter to flip through. Some guys at my shop swear boards cause edge wear if you dont use the right size. Which camp are you in and have you had any damage from one method over the other?

Your 2018 comics having spine rolls after only five years is pretty fast. I think that might be more about how tight you packed the box or storage conditions than just no boards.

Five years is barely any time for spine roll, @the_robin.
