Question about tracking down a specific issue in my comic collection

I spent like 2 hours last night trying to figure out why a few of my older books had this weird wavy look to the covers. Thought it was just humidity or something from my storage box. Turns out it was a bad batch of poly bags I bought from a local shop 6 months ago. They were trapping moisture somehow and warping the cardboard. Took me a whole week to check every single book in that batch and re-bag them. Anyone else ever had bag quality mess up their comics like that?

The waviness showed up after maybe 4 months @jade_hernandez, and it was on the thin cheap poly bags not the archival ones. The tacky residue thing happened to me too with a different batch, but this warping was way worse. I had to toss all 40 of them and start over with proper bags from a known brand.

Wait were they those cheap thin poly bags or the thicker archival ones? Ive had some dollar store poly bags leave like a weird tacky residue on my books after a few months but never full on warping like that. How long did it take for the waviness to show up after you bagged them?
