Found my old comic box at my parents' house and it changed how I collect
Was in their attic last month looking for holiday stuff. Pulled out a cardboard box from 2010. Inside were my old single issues from high school. Some were bent, a few had rusty staples. I used to just buy whatever looked cool off the rack. Seeing them all damaged made me stop. Now I bag and board everything, even the cheap books. It's not about value, just about keeping them nice. Do you guys have a rule you stick to for protecting your collection?

Rusty staples? That's a new kind of comic book horror right there.

My uncle had a garage full of bagged comics from the 90s that are still worthless. I get keeping stuff nice, but it's just paper and ink. The fun was reading them, not turning them into a plastic archive. If a staple gets rusty, the story is still the same. This whole thing feels like making a chore out of a hobby.
