Bought 30 back issues at a flea market in Nashville for $40, most were duds but one taught me about grading
Half the stack had water damage or spine ticks I missed in the sunlight, yet that one beat-up copy of X-Men 137 made me realize I've been too picky about condition. Are we collectors of stories or slabs, because I'm honestly torn after that find. Anyone else shifted their focus from grade hunting to just reading the books?

X-Men 137 is a rough one to find cheap, so $40 for the whole stack was still a win. But I have to disagree on dropping grades, because a beat up key like that is worth way more than a reader copy someday and you'll wish you had both.
