Back issues used to be a quarter
I was going through my long boxes last weekend and realized my old copies of Amazing Spider-Man from the 80s have yellowed way more than I thought. Found issue #252 with the black suit reveal and the cover is practically brown now. It got me thinking about how my whole collection has shifted from something I read for fun to something I just store in plastic. Does anyone else still actually read their old floppies or is it just me and my brittle paper?

Have you tried storing them with silica gel packs?

I read somewhere that the paper quality back then was honestly terrible compared to what we get now, so the yellowing is pretty much inevitable no matter how you store them. I still pull out my old X-Men issues once in a while but I'm always surprised at how fragile they feel. The brittleness kind of takes the fun out of handling them, doesn't it.
