A big shift in how my local comic shop handles new fans

Back in 2019, if a new person walked into my shop, they'd just get pointed to the new releases wall. Now, the owner has a whole starter pack system with five different character intro bundles, each under $25. He told me last week, 'If we don't help them find a door in, they'll just walk back out.' It's made the whole place feel way more welcoming. Has your shop done anything similar to help new readers get started?

Sounds like they're just trying to upsell people.

Ever ask them to just show you the base model price? That's what finally got them to stop pushing extras on me.
