Update: A dog at the cafe tried to eat my charger cord

Was finishing up some work when a customer's puppy grabbed my laptop cable. The owner was so embarrassed they bought me a coffee. Now I keep my cords tucked away.

I take issue with you tucking your cords away now. That is an overreaction. Puppies explore with their mouths, and a charger cord is basically a chew toy to them. The owner did the decent thing and bought you a coffee. Now you are acting like cords need to be hidden in public spaces. This kind of thinking is why we cannot have nice things, like dogs in cafes. Just keep an eye on your stuff and move on.

Pretty sure hiding cords is just common sense, not a ban on dogs in cafes.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from. My own dog chewed through three phone cables as a puppy, and it was totally my fault for leaving them out. It's just part of having a dog around. The owner buying a new coffee was a really nice move, honestly.
