Took my setup from dead battery to 8 hour days with one outlet trick
I used to hunt for a wall plug near a window every morning and still ended up on my laptop's last 20% by 2 pm. Last month in Austin, I started carrying a 6 foot power strip and asking baristas if I can sit near their counter outlet. Now I get a full 8 hours of work at Buzz Mill for the price of one refill. Anyone else found that making friends with the staff beats fighting over the one good socket?
The barista thing is so real. I started doing the same at a coffee shop near me and now they just plug in my charger before I even ask. I bring the same power strip every day and leave it under the counter, so the staff know it's mine. The whole "making friends" part is key though, I always tip on the first drink and say hi by name. Now I get the corner spot with two outlets and nobody fights me for it. It's honestly less about the trick and more about being a regular they actually like.
