Took me 3 weeks to figure out why my laptop kept dying at this one cafe on 5th
So there is this cafe near me on 5th street that I love working from, good cold brew, quiet back room, decent wifi. Problem was my laptop would drop to 4% battery out of nowhere every single time I sat at the corner table by the window. I blamed my charger first and bought a new one, 60 bucks gone. Then I blamed my laptop, ran a full battery test at home and it held a charge fine for 6 hours. Finally last Tuesday the barista mentioned the outlet by that window is on the same circuit as the panini press, and every time someone orders a hot sandwich the outlet cuts out for a second. My charger was fine the whole time. Three weeks of stress and a wasted 60 dollars because of a sandwich. Now I sit at the bar seats and my battery stays full. Has anyone else run into outlets that secretly share power with kitchen stuff?
